Standardization of renal function evaluation in Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora's colony

Abstract: Was standardized: 24-hour urine collection without fasting. The deproteinization showed no benefit. The measurements were performed with spectrophotometer reliability. It generated a practical formula for estimating PT 24 hours through rP/C.

In clinical practice, GFR is obtained from the creatinine clearance in urine samples collected over 24 hours [32]. The significantly higher creatinine clearance rate in the EL 200 (mid dose) and EL 400 (high dose) groups compared to PCM alone group demonstrated the ability of EL to eliminate creatinine from blood into urine, eventually normalising creatinine content in the blood.…”
