Inter-Observer Agreement in the Endoscopic Classification of Colorectal Laterally Spreading Tumors: A Multicenter Study Between Experts and Trainees

“…Lee et al reported the interobserver agreement and accuracy of LST classification for experts and trainees. 32 These results demonstrated that experts achieved superior accuracy in LST classifications (experts, 85.9% vs trainees, 72.5%, P < 0.001). According to a subgroup analysis in that report, the accuracy for LST-G homogeneous type was 88.3% among experts and 61.8% among trainees (P < 0.001).…”

“…Type 2 lesions tended to be misdiagnosed as Type 3 lesions in the LEE and HEE groups; however, Type 1 lesions tended to be misdiagnosed as Type 2 lesions in the student group. Lee et al reported the interobserver agreement and accuracy of LST classification for experts and trainees . These results demonstrated that experts achieved superior accuracy in LST classifications (experts, 85.9% vs trainees, 72.5%, P < 0.001).…”

“…b, all micrographs show a good compatibility between PFSA and PFCA. It has been proposed that the interaction between sulfonyl and carboxyl groups has certain impact on the dispersion, especially when PFSA and PFCA are blended at approximately proportion . In our opinion, the unusual morphology of the 50:50 PFSA/PFCA blend membrane could be primarily due to the occurrence of microphase separation, which also promotes same ions to self‐aggregate and then form smaller ionic clusters.…”

“…Detailed information about polyps is essential in clinical practice, particularly with regard to communication between referring physicians and physicians at referral centers; for example, polyp size and morphology data could greatly facilitate risk assessments of the malignant potential of tumors and decisions regarding optimal treatment approaches 1718. Without this information, unnecessary repeat colonoscopies may be performed, with consequent increased costs and greater procedural risks.…”
