Resumen. Este artículo pretende conocer la percepción de estudiantes de secundaria sobre las posibilidades y problemas de la utilización de las Tecnologías de la Información (TIC) en su experiencia extraescolar. El trabajo consiste en un estudio cualitativo, mediante la técnica de entrevista en profundidad. Participan veinte adolescentes de segundo ciclo de ESO de Aragón, de colegios de titularidad tanto pública como privada. Los resultados revelan un uso predominantemente instrumental, volcado hacia los iguales, con finalidad principalmente comunicativa, centrado en el móvil. Valoran positivamente las TIC como fuente de información para las tareas escolares; y, por supuesto, como entretenimiento. En cuanto a las desventajas cotidianas destaca la pérdida de tiempo, la dependencia excesiva y la inseguridad. Como conclusión, esta ambivalencia entre una visión positiva general y la conciencia y necesidad de un uso responsable y moderado no sólo recupera el papel de la familia y la escuela, sino que lo refuerza como guías cualificados de un aprendizaje con sentido de las TIC. This paper aims at understanding the perception of secondary school students, about possibilities and problems from Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) use, taking into account their out-of-school experience. The article consists in a qualitative study, through the in-depth interview technique. Participants were twenty adolescents in the second level of Secondary School, from Aragón, belonging to both private and state schools. The findings show a kind of use mainly instrumental, focused on peer groups, with a communicative purpose, centered in mobile phone. They appreciate ICT as an information source for schoolwork; and, of course, for entertainment. Regarding daily drawbacks, wasting their time is the most referred, along with an excessive dependence and insecurity. In conclusion, not only that ambivalence, between a general positive view and their conscience and necessity of a moderate and responsible way of using, recovers the role of guidance from family and school, but also reinforces it in order to a meaningful learning of ICT.

Introduction.Internet has completely changed communication among people in today's world, especially among young users. The objective of this study is to establish the frequency of Internet use by teenagers, and most used apps. Population and methods. This was a crosssectional study. In November 2013, students attending two mandatory secondary schools in Albacete were invited to complete a selfadministered questionnaire with close-ended and open questions. Questionnaires were completed in the classroom, either "online" or "with pen and paper". Answers were entered in a computer database using the SPSS 17.0 software. Statistical analysis included a comparison of proportions (χ² test) and mean/median values (Student's t test/non-parametric tests).Results. Nine hundred and sixty-seven students participated; their mean age was 13.8 years old (range: 11-20); 53.5% were girls. Most students (70.9%) lived in the city. Most belonged to a middle (51.3%) and high (34.8%) socioeconomic status. Also most students went online on a daily basis (73.4%); only 0.9% indicated that they never did. The most frequently used apps included WhatsApp (77.1%), social networks (70.1%) and music apps (66.6%). Among girls, the most common Internet use was social networks (p= 0.004), WhatsApp (p< 0.0001), Instagram (p < 0.0001) and listening to music (p= 0.004). Boys most commonly used the Internet to browse the web (p < 0.0001), Skype (p= 0.001), play (p < 0.0001) and watch movies or TV shows (p= 0.035). Conclusions. Internet takes up a large part of the time in adolescents' lives, especially as a means of communications, being WhatsApp and social networks the most commonly used apps.

This systematic review is an update examining the relationships between objectively and subjectively measured sedentary behaviour and health indicators in children and youth aged 5-17 years. EMBASE, PsycINFO, and Medline were searched in December 2014, and date limits were imposed (≥February 2010). Included studies were peer-reviewed and met the a prioridetermined population (apparently healthy children and youth, mean age: 5-17 years), intervention (durations, patterns, and types of sedentary behaviours), comparator (various durations, patterns, and types of sedentary behaviours), and outcome (critical: body composition, metabolic syndrome/cardiovascular disease risk factors, behavioural conduct/pro-social behaviour, academic achievement; important: fitness, self-esteem) study criteria. Quality of evidence by outcome was assessed using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation framework. Due to heterogeneity, a narrative analysis was conducted. A total of 235 studies (194 unique samples) were included representing 1 657 064 unique participants from 71 different countries. Higher durations/frequencies of screen time and television (TV) viewing were associated with unfavourable body composition. Higher duration/frequency of TV viewing was also associated with higher clustered cardiometabolic risk scores. Higher durations of TV viewing and video game use were associated with unfavourable behavioural conduct/pro-social behaviour. Higher durations of reading and doing homework were associated with higher academic achievement. Higher duration of screen time was associated with lower fitness. Higher durations of screen time and computer use were associated with lower self-esteem. Evidence ranged from "very low" to "moderate" quality. Higher quality studies using reliable and valid sedentary behaviour measures should confirm this largely observational evidence.Key words: sitting, TV, screen time, body composition, fitness, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, self-esteem, pro-social behaviour, academic achievement. Résumé :Cette analyse documentaire systématique est une mise à jour de la relation entre la mesure objective/subjective des comportements sédentaires et les indicateurs de santé chez les enfants et les jeunes âgés de 5 à 17 ans.
