Ionic Complexation as a Non-Covalent Approach for the Design of Folate Anchored Rifampicin Gantrez Nanoparticles

Abstract: The present study discloses the design of folate anchored Rifampicin-Poly methylvinylether maleic anhydride copolymer (Gantrez AN-119, Gantrez) nanoparticles (RFMGzFa) by ionic complexation. Folic acid was anchored to the preformed drug loaded nanoparticles. Folic acid was anchored in different concentration by simply varying the amount of folic acid added during preparation. RFMGzFa nanoparticles were prepared by emulsion solvent diffusion method. Gantrez AN-119 rapidly hydrolyzes in aqueous medium releasing … Show more

“…A band appearing at 3327 cm À 1 in the IR spectrum of Dox in Figure 2 is due to O-H/N-H stretching vibrations, while the band observed at 2933 cm À 1 is due to the C-H stretching vibrations (Li et al, 2009;Wu et al, 2013 (Cerchiara et al, 2005;Guhagarkar et al, 2010;Benival & Devarajan, 2012;Date et al, 2013). The intensive, broad hydroxyl band at 3000-3600 cm À1 along with C-O-C stretching at 1000-1260 cm À1 confirmed adsorption of the carbohydrates on the nanoparticles (Cheng et al, 2010).…”
