The aim of this study was to design, apply and evaluate innovative educational material in Geography course in order to improve spatial thinking of dyslexic students, aged 13-14. The design was based on the results of a previous research about differences between dyslexic and non-dyslexic students in the performance of spatial and geographical thinking, where it was identified that children with dyslexia face spatial deficits. Consequently, it is essential to apply appropriate teaching methods, to use specially designed educational material and to take into account students' differences. In this study, an unconventional package of educational material was applied in fifty-four participants (dyslexic and non-dyslexic students) of grades 7 (18 students) and 8 (36 students), during the period of October-November 2020, in Mytilene (Lesvos Island, Greece). The research design required the implementation of the educational activities in whole-class contexts and the objective was to determine whether the intervention was more effective for students of varying spatial skill. The package includes a comic book, a domino game, 2D maps and their corresponding 3D models. Five teaching hours were needed for the application of the instructional material. The results indicated that the designed tools stimulate students' interest and facilitate the teaching and learning of specific spatial skills. Additionally, the results showed that in this game-based environment, beside students' (dyslexic and non-dyslexic) higher achievement (87% of them had better scores at the post intervention test), the commitment in group activities was increased and there was higher motivation for Geography.

<span>Science, Technology/Engineering and Math (STEM) and 21st-century learning are very important to be applied to all students starting from their early age, including at the elementary school level. This study aimed to describe students' attitudes towards STEM and 21st-century skills according to gender and education level. This research was descriptive quantitative by explaining and comparing the results of the questionnaires given to students. Student attitudes were described based on domain of STEM, 21st-century skills, gender, and student grade level. The respondent of this study was 130 elementary students who were obtained randomly from one of the elementary schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The results showed that based on the science domain, the mean score of the students was 3.23 (moderate) while mathematics domain obtained was 3.21 (moderate); technology/engineering domain obtained was 3.68 (moderate) and 21st-century skill domain obtained was 3.65 (moderate). According to gender, there was a significant difference between the attitudes of male and female students towards STEM and 21st-century skills. However, there was no significant difference based on the grade of students. Based on these findings, it is suggested that teachers or policymakers should have comprehended the student attitudes before implemented the STEM-based learning and 21st-century skills. These findings can be used to create STEM and 21st-century learning.</span>

Eğitimde inovasyonu gerçekleştirmenin önemini fark eden ülkelerin, eğitimsel ihtiyaçları çağın dinamikleri çerçevesinde doğru analiz ederek, bu bağlamda eğitim sistemlerini yeniden düzenlemeleri gerekmektedir. Eğitimde yaşanan bu yeni şekillenmeler doğrultusunda ortaya çıkacak kaçınılmaz dönüşüm için, bireylere özel fırsatlar sunan, yenilikçi öğretim yaklaşımlarına ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Değişim ihtiyacına cevap verebilecek ve geleceğe yatırım yapabilecek yeni öğrenme yaklaşımlarından biri de 'STEAM' olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Spesifik içeriklerden oluşan, beş disiplininin (fen, teknoloji, mühendislik, sanat ve matematik) bir arada ele alınması esasına dayalı olan STEAM, yaşam boyu öğrenmeyi temel alan bütüncül bir yaklaşım modelidir. Son yıllarda modern eğitimde dikkat çeken, STEM ile sanatı birbirine bağlayan bu model, gerçek dünyadaki sorunları çözmeye teşvik eden, yeniliği destekleyen, deneyimsel öğrenme temelli; iş, okul ve toplum arasında bağlantıyı sağlayan bir köprü olarak düşünülebilir. STEAM eğitimi içerisinde yer alan "sanatın" özellikle bu küresel değişim sürecinde, dünyamıza ilişkin tüm zenginlikleri anlamamıza yönelik yeni kapılar açacağı, eğitim kapsamında hem birey hem de toplum olma duygusunu geliştireceği düşünülmektedir. 'Sanat' disiplini içerisinde yer verilebilecek yaratıcı dramanın STEM eğitimine entegrasyonu, STEAM'e doğru bir geçiş olarak kabul edilebilir ve ayrıca ele almak önemli görülmektedir. 21. yüzyıl öğrenimi için yaratıcı pedagojilerle STEAM eğitimi tasarlamak noktasında yaratıcı drama öğrencilere daha çok olasılık üretip karşılaştırma yoluyla en mantıklı ve en doğru sonuca ulaşmalarına olanak vermektedir. Çocukların küresel bağlamda rekabet edebilmeleri için, öğrenci merkezli sınıf ortamında, değişen yaşam koşullarını yaratıcı drama ile deneyimlemelerinin, onları bir adım öteye götüreceği düşünülmektedir. Bu bilgiler ışığında bu araştırmada, 21. yüzyılın eğitim vizyonu kapsamında, olumlu ve istenen öğrenci çıktıları üretmek için eğitim sisteminde bahsi geçen STEAM kavramının tüm yönlerinin detaylı olarak ele alınması amaçlanmıştır. 21. yüzyıl'da ortaya çıkan paradigmalar ışığında Fen eğitimine ilişkin birleşik bir vizyon geliştirmek için kullanılabilecek STEAM modeline özellikle erken çocukluk eğitiminden başlayarak tüm eğitim kademelerinde aktif olarak yer vermek, teknoloji odaklı küresel bir toplumda başarının anahtarı olarak kabul edilebilir.
