“…2 Results from this trial and other primary prevention studies, like A Study of Cardiovascular Events in Diabetes (ASCEND) and Aspirin to Reduce Risk of Initial Vascular Events (ARRIVE), led the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology to recommend against routine aspirin use for primary prevention in persons older than 70 years and those with increased bleeding risk.
