Abstract:Some magnet power supplies for particle accelerators are required to ramp up their output current from close to zero and up to their maximum operation values, with precision tracking of a few Hertz reference signal. Due to the high reactive power of these current sources, one challenge is how to minimize the effects of this low frequency oscillation in the ac mains current.
