2‐(4‐Ethoxy phenyl)‐4‐phenyl quinoline organic phosphor for solution processed blue organic light‐emitting diodes

Abstract: This paper reports the synthesis and characterization of 2-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-4-phenyl quinoline (OEt-DPQ) organic phosphor using an acid-catalyzed Friedlander reaction and the preparation of blended thin films by molecularly doping OEt-DPQ in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) at different wt%. The molecular structure of the synthesized phosphor was confirmed by Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra (NMR). Surface morphology and percent composition of the elements … Show more

“…Hence this emitter was found to be capable enough to be used as a blue emitter in OLED. 56 Efforts have been devoted by Konidena et al to report a star-shaped triazine-perylene conjugate (Figure 29). As solubility was an issue since starting for emitting materials, the triazine-perylene molecule (PerTz1) has good solubility due to its propeller shape.…”

“…Many such similar reports illustrate the process. [56][57][58][59][60][61][62] 4.1.9 | Simple precipitation method Tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminium (Alq 3 ) and other 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ) derivative metal complexes Mgq 2 , Caq 2 , Znq 2 , Baq 2 and Cdq 2 can be synthesized by a simple precipitation method at room temperature. This technique is very simple and less time consuming and even does not require complicated setup for synthesis.…”
