2-(4-Chlorophenyl)-6-methoxychroman-4-one

Abstract: Key indicators: single-crystal X-ray study; T = 293 K; mean (C-C) = 0.003 Å; R factor = 0.049; wR factor = 0.156; data-to-parameter ratio = 14.9.In the title molecule, C 16 H 13 Cl O 3 , the two aromatic rings form a dihedral angle of 65.3 (1) . In the crystal structure, weak intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into centrosymmetric dimers, which are further packed into columns propagating in [100] by weak C-HÁ Á Á interactions. “…Homoisoflavonones have wide spectrum of biological activity. In the past decades they are widely used as antifungal, antiviral, antimutagenic, antiproliferative, antioxidant, and protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) inhibitor activities (Jasinski et al, 2010). Because of their wide range of pharmacological activity, the title compound (I) was synthesized and the crystal structure determined.…”
