Abstract: Background Podiatrists independently manage diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), often complicated by diabetic foot infections (DFIs). The prevalence of DFU is 40 - 60% and guidelines vary in their recommendations for DFI, creating a target for antimicrobial stewardship.
