Abstract: BackgroundHistoplasmosis is a serious fungal infection caused by the geographically restricted, dimorphic fungus Histoplasma capsulatum. In Canada, the geographic range of H. capsulatum is classically thought to be restricted to southern parts of Ontario and Quebec.
