16S rRNA gene sequencing data of the upper respiratory tract microbiome in the SARS-CoV-2 infected patients

Abstract: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is a big challenge for humanity. The COVID-19 severity differs significantly from patient to patient, and it is important to study the factors protecting from severe forms of the disease. Respiratory microbiota may influence the patient's susceptibility to infection and disease severity due to its ability to modulate the immune system response of the host organism. This data article describes the microbiome dataset from the upper respiratory tract of SARS-CoV-2 positive patie… Show more

“…It is believed that the disease severity of COVID-19 is not only caused by viral infection but also closely associated with the dysbiosis of microbiomes in human. [25][26][27][28] The microbiome alteration across the gut-lung-oral axis has been widely studied in human oral, nasopharyngeal, lung, and human gut since the outbreak of COVID-19, 5,9,[29][30][31][32] which is critical for understanding how dysbiosis of microbiomes caused by SARS-CoV-2 affects disease severity and results in host metabolic impairment. Another concerned question is whether antibiotics use in the COVID-19 treatment influences antibiotic resistance and virulence.…”

“…This study aims to provide a detailed analysis of the clinicopathological characteristics of colorectal cancer patients by leveraging data collected from electronic health records. We are focusing on the cohort of patients included in the first phase of our research, collecting key information such as gender, tumor location, depth of tumor invasion, and whether there is lymph node metastasis [9].…”

“…В настоящее время секвенирование нового поколения и метагеномный анализ стали золотыми стандартами в исследованиях инфекционных заболеваний легких и микробиоты человека [14][15][16]. Систематический поиск выявил 20 оригинальных исследований, посвященных изучению состава и структуры микробного разнообразия легких при ТБ у людей методами метагеномного секвенирования.…”
