While our study was not designed to distinguish first-episode affective psychosis from first-episode non-affective psychosis and we emphasize that diagnosis often changes during and after a first episode of psychosis we nonetheless note that our finding is in agreement with a small, but growing, body of evidence that beta and/or gamma SSVEP responses may be different in patients with schizophrenia compared to patients with other psychotic illnesses (Parker et al, 2018).
