Abstract:Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients and their parents have a high propensity to use complementary therapies to relieve pain. Medications and exercise therapy are a cornerstone of conventional treatment with a substantial rate of inadequate pain relief and the potential of side effects from pharmaceuticals. This session will highlight the evidence behind treating intestinal permeability to reduce pain from JIA.
