Abstract: Purpose: Childhood obesity is a major risk factor for chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular disease. Elevated soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (sST2) is associated with obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease in adults, and is used as a biomarker of cardiometabolic disease.
