Abstract: Researchers have contributed significantly to the development of the subject of urban green and open spaces (UGOS) in both practical and fundamental aspects. As the number of citations indicates a paper and author’s competency, the online web of science (ISI) was browsed to identify the 100 most cited papers in the field of UGOS from 1980 to 2013. “…e manner adopted in selecting the top 100 cited papers is; e most cited articles per year are computed by dividing the total number of citations by the lifespan of the article [35]. To identify the top-cited articles, using the total number of citations per year is prepared scientifically and is more accurate than using the total number of citation only [36]. Abstracts of the top 100 cited papers were retrieved and reviewed to confirm that all the selected papers are within the domain of this study.…”

“…This study perceived that bibliometric approach can help other researchers before reading the narrative literature review as well as guiding them to the most influential works and without subjective biasness. Indeed, it will supplement subjective evaluation of narrative literature review and establish the impact of current research to the scholarly communities (see Okubo, 1997;Rakhshandehroo, Yusof, Ebrahim, Sharghi, & Arabi, 2015).…”
