Application of the Portuguese version of the Obstructive Sleep Apnea-18 survey to children

Abstract: the OSA-18-pv is a valid tool and can be used to assess the impact on the quality of life of Portuguese children with OSAS.

“…As per our knowledge, the OSA-18 survey has not been used in Argentina before, and its implementation allows us to compare our results with those obtained in other regions. 16 Although the survey has been designed for children diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, its use when suspecting obstructive sleep disorders seems adequate since, in everyday practice and as reflected in this study, it is not common in our country to request a polysomnography to assess the indication for surgery. However, it should be noted that the OSA-18 survey has limitations in the management of OSAS patients.…”
