Vortex-Assisted Hollow-Fiber Liquid-Phase Microextraction Coupled with High Performance Liquid Chromatography for the Determination of Three Synthetic Endocrine Disrupting Compounds in Milk

Abstract: 0.9988) in the concentration range of 0.5-200, 0.5-200 and 1.0-250 µg L-1, respectively. The relative standard deviations (RSD, n = 5) were 1.3-3.7%. The limits of detection (LOD, S/N = 3) were in the range of 0.16-0.35 µg L-1 and the limits of quantification (LOQ, S/N = 10) were in the range of 0.51-1.12 µg L-1. The proposed method was successfully applied to the extraction of EDCs in milk samples.]]>

“…However, in the ultrasound‐assisted hollow‐fiber liquid‐phase microextraction mode, there is the possibility of decrease in the extraction efficiency due to the overflow of the extraction solvent from the hollow fiber tube and its emulsification in the sample solution as well as the possibility of degradation of analytes by the ultrasonic energy power. Thus, vortex mixing is considered as the best alternative for solving this limitation of HF‐LPME, but only recently it has been used to extract endocrine disruptors and estrogens.…”

Food contamination was determined in meat samples [53], beverages [55,69,70], milk [59,63,71,72], oils [56,63], and canned food products [59,71,73] with most studies revealing that BPA could be leached from the plastic can linings, packaging, and bottles [53,55,56,71,[74][75][76].…”

“…Several methods such as liquid-liquid extraction [6], dispersive liquid-liquid micoextraction [7][8][9], stir bar sorptive extraction [10], single drop micro-extraction [11], hallow fiber liquidliquid micro extraction [12], solid phase microextraction [13] and solid phase extraction [14] were already applied for the extraction and determination of BPA in both environmental and food samples.…”
