Dendrocronologia, Incremento E Manejo Florestal Em Floresta De Araucária-Sc

Show more

“…According to Mattos et al, (2011), araucaria presents clearly visible growth rings, which facilitates the counting of age. As a result, dendrochronological studies with this species are increasingly frequent in the literature (CURTO et al, 2017;HESS et al 2018b;LAMBRECHT et al, 2019, among others).…”

“…(4)) included one distance-independent and one distance-dependent competition index, respectively BAL and . Both BAL and Hegyi competition indices are widely adopted in forest literature (Silveira et al, 2015;Orellana et al, 2016;Weiskittel et al, 2016;Hess et al, 2018;Kahriman et al, 2018). The inclusion of both competition indices suggests that a single competition index might not be enough to fully explain the competition (Kuehne, et al, 2019), and that different types of competition indices are suitable for different components of the overall competition (Tomé and Burkhart, 1989).…”

“…One expression of this gigantism is that the reiterated canopy trunks of these huge trees are of comparable diameters to the main trunks of the largest Araucaria trees remaining in the state-inventoried Araucaria forests. Indeed, these large reiterated trunks from the relictual giants are the size of entire younger Araucaria trees of the diameter between 0.3 and 1 m, with the 'giants' reiterated trunks alone reaching the heights of crowns of younger trees (13-97 years old) (Cattaneo et al 2013;Hess et al 2018;Albiero-J unior et al 2020;Curto et al 2021).…”
