“…Biginelli multicomponent reaction was first reported by Biginelli with three components‐aldehyde, β ‐ketoesters, and urea/thiourea in presence of HCl [8] . This reaction was reported by several research groups with different reagents, oxalic acid, p ‐TSA [9] , H 3 BO 3 [10] , thiamine hydrochloride [11] , CeCl 3 [12] , CaCl 2 [13] , polyvinylsulfonic acid [14] , SnCl 2 [15] , Ag 3 PW 12 O 40 [16] , BF 3 .Et 2 O [17] , FeCl 3 [18] , InCl 3 [19] , Mn(OAc) 3 [20] , LiClO 4 [21a] , Yb(OTf) 3 [22a] and other conditions are reported [21b,c, 22b, c,23] . Harsh reaction conditions, long reaction times, expensive reagents, low yields, toxic reaction catalysts, difficult workup procedures, moisture‐free environments, hazardous solvents, strong acidic conditions, and limited substrate scope are shortcomings of some of these reported procedures.…”
