Uric acid profile in apparently healthy people and diabetics

Abstract: KEYWORDSIn recent times, hyperuricaemia has been widely diagnosed in individuals due to changes in lifestyle and as a result of disease conditions that lead to elevated levels of uric acid in the blood. “…High blood uric acid levels were defined as serum uric acid concentration > 360 µmol/L for females, and > 420 µmol/L for males. [24] The undesirable lipid profile (high total cholesterol, high LDL-cholesterol, high triglycerides, and low HDL-cholesterol) is as follows: total cholesterol ≥ 5.2 mmol/L, LDLcholesterol ≥ 3.0 mmol/L, triglycerides ≥ 1.71 mmol/L, and HDL-cholesterol < 1.03 mmol/L for males; < 1.3 mmol/L for females. A subject was considered to have dyslipidaemia if at least one of the above criteria is attained.…”
