Prevalência de crianças identificadas com dificuldades motoras

Through this identification, we discuss the impact of these difficulties on motor development and the factors that interfere in this process. Objective: To identify the prevalence of children with motor difficulties in a sample from Fortaleza/CE and to identify in which motor components these difficulties are more evident. Method: Four hundred and twenty-three children aged 7-10 years old, both gen… Show more

“…In Brazil, no official estimate of poor motor coordination exists, possibly because of the country’s continental dimension, a low prevalence of PE classes in schools, and a low number of accessible (free) tools to promote the development and assessment of motor coordination in Brazilian children and adolescents, complicating measurements within the context of PE (Silva & Beltrame, 2013). However, in the last decade, studies, including those of Brazilians, have shown that students’ motor coordination is poor in relationship to age or level of motor development (Andrade et al, 2020; Luz et al, 2015; Moreira et al, 2014; Nobre et al, 2014; Santos et al, 2013, 2015, 2016; Santos & Ferracioli, 2020; Santos & Vieira, 2013; Silva & Beltrame, 2013; Valentini et al, 2014).…”

“…Recent studies have shown that quantifying children's developmental levels and motor coordination is an important focus of school physical education (PE) classes, sport teaching, and understanding the factors that influence childrens' maturation (Caçola et al, 2016;D'Hondt et al, 2014;Luz et al, 2015;Pereira et al, 2020;Santos & Ferracioli, 2020). Worldwide, poor motor coordination affects approximately 5-6% of primary school students between 5-11 years of age (Blank, 2012).…”

“…Nessa direção, uma problemática encontrada não apenas a nível de estudantes de outros países como também de escolares brasileiros, é a avaliação sistemática dos níveis de habilidades motoras quando mensuradas por meio de instrumentos validados (SANTOS;FERRACIOLI, 2020;VALENTINI, 2002).…”
