Fmea and Pmbok Applied to Project Risk Management

Abstract: 346The number of powdery mildew species in Europe is continually increasing due to the invasion of new species from other regions. They spread rapidly and epiphytotically through the new territories parasitizing not only their introduced hosts, but often native plants as well. For example, over the last few decades such North American species as Erysiphe (Microsphaera) azaleae (U. Braun) U. Braun et S. Takam., E. (Uncinula) flexuosa (Peck) U. Braun et S. Takam., East Asian E. arcuata U. Braun, Heluta et S. Tak… Show more

“…Material 1) Failure Modes and Effect Analysis Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is a methodology designed by U.S Military in the 1940s, to identify any potential failure modes before the problem happened and used to assess the risks of a product or a process [8]. FMEA was first developed in the 1960s by the aerospace industry as a formal design methodology in order to fulfill the reliability and safety requirements [9]. Nowadays it has been spread to other industries, such as oil and gas, and automotive.…”

“…Among the many tools used for fault analysis (Ishikawa diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto Chart, 5 Whys, Quality Control story, among others), FMEA was the most adequate for the company, because the use of this methodology shows the process systematically, aggregates more information in the descriptions of the process and identifies causes of faults in the process of microcomputer assembly (Santos and Cabral, 2008). Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was one of the first systematic techniques for failure analysis.…”

“…An FMEA is often the first step of a system reliability study. It involves reviewing as many components, assemblies, and subsystems as possible to identify failure modes, and their causes and effects (Santos and Cabral, 2008).…”

“…Risk management refers to all processes to identify, analyze, and respond to any uncertainty that includes maximizing the results of desirable events and minimizing adverse events results [2]. Chawan et al (2013) examined risk management models and the result of adverse events the basic steps such as risk identification, risk planning, risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk monitoring and control and concluded that different models and frameworks for risk management are tools for risk management and control in the critical conditions [3].…”
