Energetic aspects and opportunities for reusing water on offshore platforms in Campos Basin, Brazil

Abstract: In the drilling and production of oil at sea, a large quantity of potable water used is most commonly transported to oil platforms using offshore supply vessels (OSVs). Sea water desalination is used as well, but only in a few oil platforms. To minimize energy consumption, water supply options were studied.
