Soil map units of Minas Gerais State from the perspective of Hydrologic Groups

Abstract: The knowledge of water availability is the basis for water resource planning and management. The Soil Map Units of the State of Minas Gerais were interpreted from the perspective of Hydrologic Groups based on the Curve Number -Soil Conservation Service method, with the addition of pedological elements of the mapped units. The generated products were used in three different physiographic environments of the Minas Gerais State. According to results, most of Minas Gerais falls within Hydrologic Groups A and B, in… Show more

“…Solo 2019;43:e0180010 The CN is a critical variable for groundwater modeling, especially at values higher than 50, representing most values for the soils in the basin. Although CN has been developed for USA soils, it has been applied in hydrological models for tropical soils, particularly for soils in Minas Gerais (Silva et al, 2018).…”

“…The region has an annual rainfall around 1,400 mm, concentrated from October to April, and an annual average temperature of 20.8ºC. The soil is predominantly composed of Dystroferric Red Latosol (Silva et al 2018). The experiment was carried out from 2015 to 2019 with C. arabica c.v. Paraíso (aged six years at the beginning of the experiment), with an open area cultivation mode without the control of Long-term study in coffee leaf miner population leading to the selection of populations that are resistant to certain chemical compounds (Dantas et al 2020; Fragoso et al 2003.…”
