The purpose of this study was to examine the scientific production of empirical articles regarding twice exceptionality – giftedness/ADHD – through a systematic review. The search was carried out in the Portal de Periódicos Capes, SciELO, and PePSIC databases, considering the publications between 2011 and 2021. The terms giftedness, high abilities, ADHD, twice exceptionality, and their counterparts in Portuguese were used as descriptors. We selected 27 articles based on pre-established inclusion criteria. Six categories of studies were identified: socio-emotional factors, interpersonal relationships, identification, inattention and hyperactivity, intelligence quotient, and educational support practices. The conclusion was that by having their individual needs met and school community support, gifted students with ADHD can academically succeed, have a positive self-concept and good interpersonal relationships.

This study aims to explore the two less frequently researched pillars of the systems theory of creativity: domain and field, through a gender lens. Twenty-five award-winning women from different domains were interviewed. Their responses were examined using grounded theory. Results show four categories associated to domain: (1) access, including family incentive, interest in childhood, and late start; (2) relationship, reflected in high level of engagement, positive feelings, priority in life, and crisis; (3) gender barriers, encompassing family impact, financial limitations, discrimination, and being part of a minority; and (4) extra-domain, described in background and interests in other areas. Four additional categories were identified in relation to the field: (a) 10 years to gain recognition, (b) unclear criteria, (c) men hold the power, and (d) denial of gender barriers. The importance of fostering appealing domains that motivate women is discussed, along with the need for openness to interdisciplinarity and nonlinear careers. Masculinisation of the fields is problematised as an obstacle for the development and recognition of women. The personal discrimination denial paradox, in spite of accounts of the gender barriers experienced, is questioned.

Maternidade, paternidade e carreira: o impacto de filhos e filhas nas carreiras de mulheres e homens

A presente pesquisa procurou compreender os impactos das/os filhas/os na carreira de mulheres e homens, buscando os contrastes existentes entre mães e pais. O contexto brasileiro segue marcado por uma expectativa em relação aos papéis desempenhados pelo gênero e o resultado disso é a manutenção dos cuidados domésticos e dos filhos/as sob responsabilidade primária das mulheres. Considerando esse cenário, foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa, sob o referencial teórico do construcionismo social, na qual foi utilizada como instrumento a entrevista semiestruturada. Os participantes foram mulheres mães e homens pais, com filhos desde 8 meses de gestação até 16 anos de idade e que trabalhavam em organizações. Para análise dos dados usou-se a análise de conteúdo descrita por Bardin, na qual foram construídas categorias de análises de acordo com o que foi relatado pelos participantes. Os resultados encontrados apontam que o suporte do ambiente de trabalho, assim como da rede de apoio, é fundamental na viabilização e entrega das mães em seus empregos, possibilitando o alcance a novas oportunidades profissionais. Os pais, por sua vez, tendem a levar mais conflitos do trabalho para casa, sendo este um ponto de atenção para eles. Concluiu-se que há impactos, tanto na carreira de mulheres, quanto de homens, com a chegada dos filhos, no entanto há diferenças, que são sustentadas pelas relações de gênero.
