Somatic embryogenesis from mature split seeds of jaboticaba (Plinia peruviana (Poir) Govaerts)

Abstract: Plinia peruviana is a species that is native to Brazil and is important due to the taste and medicinal properties of its fruits. Young leaves and split mature seeds were used as explants to initiate somatic embryogenesis to obtain a large number of plants in a short period of time. Leaf discs were cultured in MS medium containing various concentrations of 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) or picloram (4-amino-3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid). In the case of the mature seeds, various concentratio… Show more

“…Roxb. (Silveira et al, 2020;Gao et al, 2021;Khajuria et al, 2021). In agreement with the improvements observed in the germination of P. halepensis ses, it was reported that the Gln also influenced the growth of proembryogenic masses in Picea abies L. Karst.…”

“…In agreement with the improvements observed in the germination of P. halepensis ses, it was reported that the Gln also influenced the growth of proembryogenic masses in Picea abies L. Karst. (Carlsson et al, 2017) and P. peruviana (Silveira et al, 2020), increasing production of ses and consequent conversion to viable plants in date palm (El-Dawayati et al, 2018), as well as induction of secondary ses in Quercus suber L. (Rahmouni et al, 2020).…”

“…The results reported by Silveira et al (2020) corroborate the present results. The authors reported no callus induction in leaflets of Plinia peruviana in the absence of 2,4-D.…”

“…Qin et al (2021) observed the effects of supplementation and the identification of genes and entire genomes of microRNAs. For Psidium guajava (Kamle and Baek 2017) mention that it is necessary to advance in genome sequencing to proceed with studies for Syzygium cumini (L.), and for the first-time advances in somatic embryo aturation were observed in Plinia peruviana (Silveira et al 2020). However, there is no information in the literature about the callus induction mechanism in M dubia.…”

“…Auxin releases the E2F/DPA complex that promotes the cell cycle transition from the first growth phase (G1) to the synthesis phase (S) and triggers gene expression during interphase. 30 At the same time, the CDKA/CYCD protein and auxin initiate the cell cycle transition from G1 to S phase. 31 Furthermore, auxin triggers the degradation of S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 (SKP2), thereby activating SKP1-Cullins1-F-box protein (SCF) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase to degrade E2FC/DPB/RBR repressor protein (inhibitor of the mitotic-related gene during the S phase).…”
