Abstract: Chagas disease (CD) is a neglected tropical disease (NTD) caused by Trypanosoma cruzi, a hemoflagellate protozoa. CD is diagnosed by epidemiologic history and two positive serological tests. The infection has two main clinical phases: acute, early after acquiring the infection, and chronic.
