Introdução: Com o aumento da população mundial nos últimos anos, o cenário do perfil etário passa por mudanças no decorrer do tempo, que resultam da redução nas taxas de natalidade, fecundidade e mortalidade, havendo avanço na expectativa de vida, ocasionando assim, crescimento expressivo da população sênior em todo mundo. A Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) cita as Doenças Crônicas Não Transmissíveis (DCNT’s) como principal causadora de morbimortalidade no mundo, acometendo milhares de pessoas anualmente. Inserida entre as DCNT’s, está a Doença Pulmonar Obstrutiva Crônica (DPOC), associada a perda na qualidade de vida e um elevado número de mortes precoce por esta enfermidade, ocupando a quarta posição no ranking de mortes no mundo, e terceiro lugar no Brasil. Retratando um considerável cenário de limitação e incapacidades funcionais, relacionada ao declínio considerável na qualidade de vida destes pacientes. Objetivo: Mapear evidências científicas acerca dos cuidados a pessoa idosa com DPOC. Critérios de inclusão: A revisão de escopo deve incluir estudos envolvendo os cuidados ofertados a pessoa idosa com Doença Pulmonar Obstrutiva Crônica. Métodos: Para sua elaboração será utilizado às orientações do Manual do Instituto Joanna Briggs - JBI Manual for Evidence e o checklist Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR), dando sustentação a todo processo da revisão de escopo.
