Three New Steroidal Glycoalkaloids from Solanum pseudoquina A. St.-Hil. (Solanaceae)

Abstract: Three new steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGA) were isolated from green berries of Solanum pseudoquina A. St.-Hil. The extract obtained after treatment with 5% acetic acid aqueous solution was subjected to several chromatographic procedures, leading to an enriched alkaloidal fraction. The enriched alkaloidal fraction was subjected to a semi preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) leading to the isolation of three new SGA from S. pseudoquina:

“…Glycoalkaloids from S. pseudoquina were analysed using both the database dependent GNPS and the database independent LipidXplorer methods to demonstrate the application of both to complex mixture dereplication. Among the compounds expected to be found in a Solanum species, glycoalkaloids are considered to be chemotaxonomic markers . Therefore, a raw 80% methanol–water extract together with a glycoalkaloid rich extract were analysed by LC‐ddMS 2 .…”

“…To endorse the classification provided by the data presented so far, a preparative chromatographic procedure was done to get pure glycoalkaloids. Thus, it was possible to purify four glycoalkaloids where three of them were described previously . The forth compound (SGA4), a new monoglycoside of an epiminiocholestane derivative, is described on the basis of exhaustive MS and NMR data analysis.…”
