Honey quality detection based on near-infrared spectroscopy

Abstract: As a natural agricultural product, honey is favored by consumers, and its variety and adulteration have a huge impact on the quality. Acacia honey, red jujube honey and rape honey were used as experimental objects, and their spectral reflectance curves were obtained through a near-infrared spectral image acquisition system. Spectral features were extracted from the preprocessed spectral reflectance curves, and a honey variety classification model based on near-infrared spectral features was established by mach… Show more

“…Notably, the peaks observed in the 800-1200 cm À1 range provide insights into the chain configuration of starch and its crystalline region. Furthermore, the absorption ratios of 1047 cm À1 /1022 cm À1 and 1022 cm À1 /995 cm À1 serve as indicators of the ordered crystalline and amorphous regions of starch, respectively (Zou et al, 2018;Li et al, 2022aLi et al, , 2022b.…”

“…components. However, near-infrared spectroscopy technology can be used to study the qualitative and quantitative detection of ZSS and its three counterfeits, namely, Ziziphus mauritiana Lam., HDT, and Lens culinaris (Zhao et al, 2022). The multiplex allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) can accurately identify ZSS, Hovenia acerba semen, and ZMS simultaneously (Li et al, 2023).…”

“…There was no significant difference in the infrared spectra of ZSS and ZMS because they contained similar chemical components. However, near-infrared spectroscopy technology can be used to study the qualitative and quantitative detection of ZSS and its three counterfeits, namely, Ziziphus mauritiana Lam., HDT, and Lens culinaris (Zhao et al, 2022).…”

“…NIR spectroscopy is a powerful non-destructive tool for quantitative and qualitative analyses and has been widely used in food science (Bizzani et al, 2017;Malegori et al, 2017;Oliveira et al, 2014;Silva et al, 2021;Zhou et al, 2023), chemistry (Fernandes et al, 2008), medicine (Trenfield et al, 2022), and industrial quality control processes (Blanco et al, 2007). TD-NMR has also been widely applied in food science (Bizzani et al, 2020;Machado et al, 2022;Qu et al, 2021;Wang et al, 2018) and several methods have been recognized by various international agencies, like the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) (Todt et al, 2006).…”
