Abstract:The recovery of heparin from the porcine intestinal mucosa by using the ion exchange resin was studied. The procedure involved the following steps: alkaline hydrolysis, ion exchange resin adsorption, and elution. The activity of heparin was measured by an antifactor Xa assay.
