Show more

“…Malagueta pepper plants grown in an environment with 18% of shading showed higher concentration of chlorophyll a, when they were subjected to foliar application with the different treatments studied in relation to the evidence, especially the use of PBZ + N which promoted the highest concentration of chlorophyll a compared to other treatments analyzed (Table 5). Results are in agreement with those obtained by Melo et al (2014), which reviewed the use of the growth retardant PBZ in the film-coating of tomato seeds (Solanum lycopersicum L.), verifying that independent from the concentration adopted, the use of PBZ increases the concentration of chlorophyll. Pepper grown in an environment with 35% of shading showed higher concentration of chlorophyll a compared to control, when they were subjected to foliar application of Gib.…”

“…This might be related to a delay in the emergence of the shoots caused by the growth inhibitor. Melo et al (2014) noticed that tomato seeds treated with y = 7E-06x 2 -0.0024x + 1.8824 R² = 0.9638 1.65…”

“…However, its results depend on the applied concentrations, number, the moment of applications, and target (foliar or soil) (Almeida And Pereira, 1996;Koutoubras et al, 2014). Furthermore, there are just a few studies on the use of paclobutrazol in seed treatment (Melo et al, 2014(Melo et al, , 2015. Due to these facts, the utilization of this hormone in the sunflower crop still requires more studies.…”
