Common mental disorders in Primary Health Care professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic period: a cross-sectional study in the Northern health macro-region of Minas Gerais state, Brazil, 2021

Abstract: Objetivo: analisar a prevalência de sintomas de transtornos mentais comuns (TMCs) em profissionais de saúde da Atenção Primária à Saúde, no período agosto-outubro/2021. “… 1 The mental health of primary care workers was investigated in a survey conducted in Minas Gerais in 2021, looking at effects of work overload and previous disorders on the occurrence of mental illness during the COVID-19 pandemic. 2 Two analyses based on data from the Hospital Information System found a reduction in psychiatric hospitalizations in the Brazilian National Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS) between 2008 and 2021, 3 and hospitalizations due to alcohol use between 2010 and 2020, 4 possibly reflecting effects of the psychiatric reform and its fight anti-asylum, as well as consequences of the pandemic on the chain of care.
