The aim of present study was to develop the efficient targeting of Concanavalin-A conjugated nanotransfersomal gel to bind directly to melanocytes gel layer against UVB induced skin carcinoma. Carbopol loaded nanotransfersomal gel have prepared by modified rotary evaporation sonication technique & conjugated synthesized by carbodiimide method and they were characterized the morphology, zeta potential, penetration and cell viability. In vitro release studies & skin permeation have determined using Franz diffusion cell and confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM). The conjugated formulation showed vesicles size, polydispersity index, zeta potential and % conjugation efficiency of 179.0 ± 0.32 nm, 0.197 ± 0.07, 35.1 ± 0.21 mV and 89.73 ± 1.29% respectively. The surface morphology was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and FTIR to make sure the compatibility among its ingredients. Con-A conjugated nanotransfersomal gel showed toxicity on melanoma (A375) in a concentration range of 0.4-2.0 mg/mL, but less toxicity toward HaCaT cells. The MTT assay has analyzed against two different cell lines, to determine their anti-cancer potentials and their targeting ability. Conjugated formulation were found to decrease the cell viability, higher skin targeting efficacy in invitro & in-vivo. Concanavalin conjugated nanotransfersomal gel of apigenin promise an efficient and economic approach for the skin cancer.

Intranasal gel formulation with mucilage of natural origin has been potentially explored as an alternative dosage form of drug administration. The purpose of present investigation was to develop paracetamol loaded nasal gel with sweet basil seed mucilage (BSM) as a gelling agent obtained by thermal-hydration process and to characterise both mucilage as well as the gel formulations. Phytochemical screening of BSM reveals it to be rich in carbohydrates. The FT-IR spectrum of the mucilage exhibits the presence of O-H, C-H, and-COO −. The mucilage showed high swelling index of 462% and relative viscosity of BSM dispersion (0.25% w/v) in nasal medium was found to be 2.94 at 25⁰ C. Nasal gel formulations demonstrated satisfactory pH, spreadability, extrudibility and drug content. The in vitro release profile of G1 (6%w/w BSM) demonstrated almost 95% release with Korsmeyer-Peppas kinetics with highest values of permeability coefficient and steady-state flux. Other formulations with 8-10%w/w BSM exhibited 70-80% release within 2.5 hours. G2 and G3 followed zero order kinetics with quasi-Fickian diffusion. The study indicates that G1 (6 %w/w BSM) can be selected for nasal gel formulation which may be used for in vivo studies in future.

Mosquito problem is the major problem in our country. There are many pesticide formulated products available in the market to compete the mosquito generating problems. The major drawback of these products is that they are not safe for human beings so, there is urgent requirement of safe and effective formulation. The aim of this study is to develop an effective, safe, and slow release formulation against mosquito control. In the present study, neemmicroemulsion was converted into microemulsion gel by using polymeric gel matrix Carbopol-934. Microemulsion formulation is the thermodynamically stabilized formulation and globular size is in nano range. These characteristic features of microemulsion will remain same in the gel phase. Size and zeta potential of microemulsion gel are (400± 6) nm and-10.0 m V, respectively. Synersis, spreading coefficient value are in the range of stabilized gel formulation and suitable for impregnating mosquito net. Neemmicroemulsion based gel impregnated net gives 90% repellency against mosquitoes.
