Study of the physical and mechanical properties of permeable concrete with the addition of TiO 2 for the treatment of sewage

Abstract: The sewage treatment stations (STSs), located in Teresina-PI, were designed to receive domestic sewage, however, in 2011 they began to receive unknown sewer from clean pit vehicles. This sewage is compromising the effluent treatment efficiency. The permeable concrete with the addition of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) presents itself as an alternative process to assist in the treatment of sanitary sewage due to its photocatalytic properties. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the mechanical, hydr… Show more

“…The presence of 99.95% of Titanium was verified by the XRF of titanium dioxide, a result that corroborates with the XRD (Figure 2) of the sample that presents the characteristic phases of Titanium. Adapted From (Araújo, 2020) According to the micrographs obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), at point A, the samples of TiO2 (Figure 3a) present particles with uniform distribution, spherical morphology, and slight agglomeration. There were no significant variations in grain morphology.…”
