Abstract

ReviewersReviewers are selected by the Editors among the IBRACON members with recognized competence in the specific field of each contribution. They are acknowledged at the end of each volume.The last issue of the 2015 Volume of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal (Volume 8 Number 6, December 2015) is now released. This number brings five articles discussing topics related to concrete applications. The development and the implementation of a numerical procedure for design of reinforced concrete columns and composite columns with fully concrete encased steel I-section is discussed in first article. Application to experimental and numerical results demonstrate the accuracy of the procedure. The second article discusses recommendations for safety check of precast beams in transitory phases, comparing results of parametric analyses with national and international code recommendations, and confronting the formulations used for assessment of buckling loads. The next article deals with nonlinear finite element analysis of the bond-slip between reinforcing steel and concrete, combining a microplane model for the concrete with an embedded reinforcement model accounting for bond-slip. The fourth article aims at the evaluation of the seismic behavior of a reinforced concrete structure with irregularities through their influence in the loss of ability to resist lateral loads and energy dissipation. Methodology for the design of cellular composite steel-concrete beams is the subject of the last article.With this issue, we complete the eighth volume of the IBRACON Structures and Materials Journal. We acknowledge the efforts of the whole IBRACON community that supported this project during the last decade, particularly authors, reviewers, former and current editors. As usual, as this is the last issue of 2015, we present the list of reviewers who donate their precious time evaluating manuscripts to assure the good quality of our Journal. Este número traz cinco artigos que discutem temas relacionados a concreto e suas aplicações. O desenvolvimento e a implementação de um procedimento numérico para o projeto de pilares de concreto armado e pilares mistos com seção I de aço totalmente envolvida em concreto são discutidos no primeiro artigo. A aplicação a resultados experimentais e numéricos comprovam a acurácia do procedimento. O segundo artigo descreve recomendações para a verificação de segurança de vigas pré-moldadas em fases transitórias, comparando os resultados de análises paramétricas com recomendações de normas nacionais e internacionais, e confrontando as formulações utilizadas para avaliação das cargas críticas de instabilidade lateral.
