Demonstration experiments in electrostatics: low cost devices

Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to provide a set of demonstration experiments in electrostatics. Emphasis is put in regard to the making of apparatuses in order to have useful self-made devices from common materials; obviously some apparatuses need special mechanical skill as a turning operation. All devices are designed in order to have a set of portable experiments. Keywords: demonstration experiments, electrostatics, home-made devices.O objetivo principal deste trabalhoé propiciar um conjunto de experimen… Show more

“…It has four independent 2 input NAND gates to perform the logical NAND operation. This IC is low cost and a good alternative for MC14081 [4]. It requires a supply voltage between 2 V and 7 V. Therefore, we have used a lithium ion coin cell (CR2032), which provides a constant supply of 3 V.…”

“…The list of such materials is called the triboelectric series. In some recent studies, the polarity of the charge of the triboelectric materials was detected using p-channel and n-channel MOSFETs [1], an indicator connected with bipolar transistors [2,3], or using an AND gate interfaced with an LED [4].…”
