Editorial

Abstract: Fourteen years ago, I start the editorial management of the Brazilian Journal of Oceanography, periodical of a fiftyyear tradition and edited by the Instituto Oceanográfico of the University of São Paulo. At the time, the magazine was in a difficult phase, with problems of periodicity and lack of papers. It was urgent to transform it into an attractive journal, inserted in the context of current oceanographic science.
