Abstract: Introduction: Newer generation lithotriptors have been modified to induce less pain. We evaluated factors contributing to post-shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) pain and assessed potential benefits of preemptive analgesia using Rofecoxib, a COX-II inhibitor, and potential effects on stone passage rates.
