Abstract

Following the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1991, Canada became the world's largest country land mass. Comparatively, its population is very sparse at approximately 33 million, and distributed mainly along the border with the United States. Canada consists of ten provinces and two territories, governed by a constitutional monarchy. Although English and French are the two national languages, English is predominant in every province, except in Quebec, where French is spoken almost exclusively.
