A study of the assembly of fruit-feeding butterflies in the Área de Proteção Especial Manancial Mutuca, Nova Lima, MG was conducted with the goal of inventorying the species of the site. Forty-two traps were used to attract fruit-feeding butterflies, divided between Cerrado (rupestrian field) and riparian vegetation, monthly over one year. 2245 butterflies, which belonged to 63 species, were recorded. Of this total, fourty-eight species were collected in the Cerrado, twenty-one exclusively in this environment, forty-two in riparian forest, fifteen being exclusive to this environment, and twenty-seven species were sampled in both environments. From the total of sampled species, thirty-five were considered rare, eight accessory species, and twenty constant species. Prepona deiphile deiphile (Charaxine) is classified as vulnerable on the Minas Gerais’ list and on the national list of threatened species. The collector curve showed no clear trend to stabilization, suggesting that there are species still not sampled in the study area. Adding the data from field sampling to the information on species occurrence in the literature and in entomological collections, the current number of frugivorous butterflies species for the region of Belo Horizonte is 104. This result foregrounds the importance of APE Mutuca for maintaning a rich fauna of frugivorous butterflies to the area.

As borboletas desempenham funções essenciais nos ecossistemas, podendo ser utilizadas como bioindicadores. Apesar de sua relevância pouco se conhece sobre o grupo em muitos estados, ecossistemas e unidades de conservação brasileiras, como o estado de Minas Gerais, em que se conhece cerca de 1600 espécies, das quais 25 estão ameaçadas de extinção. Nesse panorama o objetivo do estudo foi inventariar a fauna de borboletas em áreas de floresta estacional semidecidual na região sul de Minas Gerais, Brasil. O trabalho foi conduzido de janeiro de 2016 a maio de 2019, com esforço amostral diferenciado para cada área, totalizando 492 horas amostrais. Os exemplares capturados foram armazenados em envelopes entomológicos e encaminhados para sua identificação no Laboratório de Ecologia e Sistemática de Borboletas (LABBOR), e encontra-se em processo de tombamento na coleção biológica do Laboratório de Zoologia do IFSULDEMINAS, Campus Inconfidentes. Foram coletados 1070 indivíduos, pertencentes a seis famílias e 234 espécies distribuídas em 19 subfamílias. Destaca-se o registro da espécie Charonias theano (BOISDUVAL, 1836) ameaçada de extinção, presente na Área de Proteção Ambiental da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Machado, município de Poço Fundo. O presente estudo evidenciou que a região sul de Minas Gerais abriga uma importante fauna de borboletas, sendo necessário estabelecer ações para conservação dessa biota.

The environmental monitoring programs used to assess the quality of the habitats are often common to insects, mainly as frugivorous butterflies, as easily accessible biological indicators. These have ample availability of information, an easy to perform and low cost study method, in addition to responding easily to environmental changes, making it an efficient tool in environmental diagnosis. The way or objective of this work was to inventory as frugivorous butterflies in two different points, edge and center of an urban fragment belonging to the Universidade Federal de Rondonópolis, state of Mato Grosso, using as an environmental indicator. As a hypothesis, it was believed to detect differences in species richness, the amount of composition and composition between two areas. A sampling was carried out between the months of February and May 2019, using 10 Van Someren-Rydon weapons, of which six were distributed at the edges and four in the center (interior) of the fragment. Take place as trapped collections once a week lasting three days at each event. 105 individuals belonging to nine species of Nymphalidae were captured, respectively, as subfamilies: Biblidinae (71), Satyrinae (31) and Charaxinae (03). There was no significant difference between species richness, quantity and composition in the edge area and in the center of the fragment.
