Abstract:The influence of the shape of laboratory-scale unstirred reactors on the kinetics of ethanol production in batch ethanol fermentation was studied. Two reactors were used: a 1-L glass measuring cylinder and a 2-L Erlenmeyer flask. The volume of inoculated medium in each reactor was 1,000 mL. The above influence was affected by the ratio between the initial yeast cells concentration (X
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
