Abstract

The facsimile entitled "Good Examples", written by Nurse Rosaly Taborda, at the time Head Nurse of Public Health, was published in 1937 in the Annals of Nursing. The present article describes the social issues involved in the population's disease processes. At that time, the access to health conditions that favored a healthier life was not available to most of the population of the country. The author discusses the lack of public health policies for the Brazilian population exposed to different diseases, such as tuberculosis, gastroenteritis, worm infestation and malaria.
