Immune effector mechanisms of the nitric oxide pathway in malaria: cytotoxicity versus cytoprotection

Abstract: Nitric oxide (NO) is thought to be an important mediator and critical signaling molecule for malaria immunopathology; it is also a target for therapy and for vaccine.
