Abstract: In October, the School of Mines of Ouro Preto commemorates its 137th anniversary. In June of this year, I traveled abroad and during the trip, I visited the Limoges Region of France in order to see the land in which Claude-Henri Gorceix was born. It was he who in 1876 founded the School of Mines of Ouro Preto. During this visit, I saw two places that preserve the memory of this founder. The first was Saint Denis de Mur, where he was born.
