Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence of placental abruption (PA) among nulliparous and multiparous women in the city of Dourados-MS Brazil. Materials and methods: Retrospective single-center cross-sectional study. 240 examinations of patients submitted to ultrasonography (USG) with medical indications for investigating PA were evaluated. Results: The average age was 28.6 ± 6.38, minimum 15 and maximum 43 years. The patients’ weeks of pregnancy showed an average of 7.8 ± 3.1 minimum 4 and maximum 27 weeks. PA occurred in 66 (27.7%) of the patients out of the 240 evaluated patients. Conclusion: The occurrence of PA in the studied population was high. There was no correlation between the occurrence of PA and the age of the patients. The relevance of family planning and adequate prenatal care in the early identification of risk factors for PA, as both contribute to reducing the incidence of unfavorable pregnancy outcomes.

Fatores maternos e resultados perinatais no descolamento prematuro da placenta: comparação entre dois períodos , in singleton delivery with birthweight higher than 500 g and after 20 weeks of gestation. The following factors were analyzed: maternal age, previous obstetric history, prenatal care, premature rupture of membranes, obstetric and/or clinical intercurrent events, vaginal bleeding, uterine tonus, fetal anomaly, mode of delivery, hemoamnion and maternal complication (hysterectomy, uterine atony, disseminated intravascular coagulation, acute renal failure, and maternal death), and the perinatal results. Results: the rate of placental abruption was 0.78% (60 cases) in the period 94-97 (n=7692 deliveries), and 0.59% (51 cases) in the period 01-05 (n=8644 deliveries), without signifi cant difference. A signifi cant difference was observed between the periods 94-97 and 01-05 regarding mean number of previous gestations (3.5±2.4 and 2.6±1.8, p=0.04), patients without prenatal care (13.3 and 2.0%, p=0.03) and maternal intercurrences (38.3 and 64.7%, p=0.01). No signifi cant difference was observed related to vaginal bleeding, tonus abnormalities and perinatal results, between the periods, but a higher proportion of hemoamnion in 94-97 was found when compared to 01-05 (28.3 and 11.8%, p=0.03). Conclusions: in spite of obstetrical advances, maternal complications and perinatal results were similar in the analyzed periods. The severity and the unexpected results emphasize the importance of prevention and adequate control of associated factors, when this pathology is approached.

O deslocamento prematuro da placenta (DPP) é uma condição médica séria que ocorre durante a gravidez, quando a placenta se separa parcial ou completamente do útero antes do nascimento do bebê. Esta condição pode representar uma ameaça tanto para a mãe quanto para o feto. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, método que proporciona a síntese de conhecimento e incorporação da aplicabilidade de resultados de estudos significativos na prática. O presente estudo tem como objetivo abordar a prestação do serviço do enfermeiro frente aos sinais de deslocamento prematuro de placenta. O papel da enfermagem diante do descolamento prematuro da placenta é fundamental para garantir a segurança e o bem-estar da mãe e do feto. A enfermagem deve estar atenta aos sinais e sintomas do descolamento prematuro da placenta e pronta para agir rapidamente em caso de emergência. A abordagem multidisciplinar, que envolve não apenas o enfermeiro, mas toda a equipe de saúde, é essencial para garantir o bem-estar da gestante e do feto. A identificação de sinais e sintomas, a realização de exames e a pronta tomada de decisões são aspectos fundamentais no cuidado apropriado às mulheres em situação de deslocamento prematuro da placenta.
