As propriedades avaliadas f… Show more

“…Thus, the impact strength is significantly increased. The hydrogenated and maleinized SBS (SEBS‐g‐MAH) is an effective compatibilizer for PP and other polar polymers (PET, PC, and PA) with PS as continuous phase, and by homogenization, it leads especially to increased tensile strength and impact strength of polystyrene composites …”

“…The most damaging effect of degradation is the decrease in impact strength and the reuse of recovered polymers as such is drastically limited due to the brittle of items obtained by injection, not by extrusion. The improvement of this property is essential for recycling the polystyrene polymers and the most commonly used method consists in their modification by melt processing with elastomers, especially with styrene‐diene block‐copolymers, due to their thermoplastic and compatibilizer properties …”

“…In relation to the use in food packaging, the permission or restriction of recycled materials intended for contact with food is defined in specific regulations, and for polymers, only the post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is foreseen 27 . The incorporation of styrene-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic rubber has been proposed to recover the mechanical properties of recycled high impact polystyrene 28 . Another study has examined the effects of adding commercial styrene-butadiene multiblock (SBS) and styrene-(ethylene-butylene)-styrene linear triblock (SEBS) copolymers to HDPE and HIPS postconsumer blends and has shown SEBS is more efficient as an interfacial tension modifier when than SBS…”
