Ob… Show more

“…The effects of two operating variables were analyzed: the stirring speed and the suspending agent (PVA) concentration. As well discussed in the open literature and also observed in the previous set of experiments, the reduction of the suspending agent concentration induces the formation of larger drops, since coalescence is favored at low PVA concentrations. As shown in Figure , FBRM can detect such effects when experiments E12 and E13 are compared to each other.…”

“…Several techniques have been developed since the second half of the 20 th century to characterize the particle/droplets/bubbles size distributions in heterogeneous systems in order to understand and control the evolution of these distributions . These techniques are often based on laser spectroscopy, capillary spectroscopy, laser diffraction, near‐infrared spectroscopy and backscattered lighting …”

“…As well known in the literature , reduction of suspending agent concentrations and agitation speeds induces the formation of polymer particles of larger diameters, since particle coalescence is favored by lower surfactant concentrations and agitation speeds. As shown in Fig.…”

“…Several techniques have been developed since the second half of the twentieth century to study the bubbles/droplets/particle size distributions in heterogeneous systems (gas–liquid, liquid–liquid and solid–liquid) to understand and control the evolution of these distributions in chemical processes . These techniques are often based on laser spectroscopy, capillary spectroscopy , laser scattering , near‐infrared spectroscopy , and backscattered lighting .…”
