To estimate the prevalence of alcohol, tobacco and illicit drug consumption (through the selfreport) in adult Latin-American immigrants of Seville, a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in a representative sample of 190 immigrants. The results showed that 61.4% of the participants had consumed alcohol in previous month before data collection, although 13.2% of them were at risk of alcoholism. Moreover, 30.0% were smokers. In addition, 5.3% of the interviewed people had consumed illicit psychoactive substances in the previous six months (Marihuana: 3.7%, hashish: 1.1% and cocaine: 0.5%). For all substances under analysis, the consumption prevalence was much higher in men from 25 to 39 years of age. In conclusion, prevalence levels of this consumption were high among the studied immigrants. Nurses could train the population in the prevention of these risk behaviors through preventive practices. Prevalencia de consumo de alcohol, tabaco y drogas ilícitas en inmigrantes latinoamericanos adultosCon el fin de estimar la prevalencia por autorreporte del consumo de alcohol, tabaco y drogas ilícitas en la población adulta de inmigrantes latinoamericanos en Sevilla, se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en una muestra representativa de 190 inmigrantes.Los resultados mostraron que el 61,4% de los sujetos bebió alcohol en el mes anterior a la recolección de datos, y el 13,2% de los participantes mostró tener riesgo de alcoholismo.El 30,0% ya era fumador. El 5,3% de los encuestados ha consumido drogas ilícitas en los últimos seis meses (marihuana: 3,7%, el hachís, la cocaína un 1,1% y 0,5%). Para todas las sustancias investigadas, la prevalencia de consumo fue mayor en hombres de 25-39 años. Se concluye que los inmigrantes tienen una alta prevalencia de consumo de drogas.La enfermera puede prevenir estos comportamientos de riesgo mediante la implementación de prácticas educativas.

The others (6)(7) aimed to evaluate the attitudes of these professionals towards alcohol and the alcoholics.The most usual instrument in Brazil to measure the nurses' attitudes is Seaman Mannello Nurses's Attitudes Toward Alcohol and Alcoholism Scale (8) .Translated and validated in the country (5) , it is a scale consisting of 30 items, distributed in five factors, which cover, among other aspects, the perceptions of the alcoholics and their attitudes towards drinking.A brief analysis of the results obtained with the application of Seaman Mannello in the Brazilian studies (6-7) revealed, among other aspects, that nurses conceived alcoholism as a disease, and that alcoholics were ill people, revealing positive attitudes. However, negative attitudes were predominant in nurses regarding working with this clientele (6)(7)9) . When the authors (5-6) evaluated the use of this scale, they noted some limitations. Among them, never having been published integrally; few existing studies about its psychometric properties (5) and the inexistence of satisfactory studies on its cross-cultural adaptation for application in Brazil (10) , which makes it unsatisfactory for usage in the country -the main justification for the construction of a new attitude scale (11) .The classical theories about attitudes (12) define this construct as predispositions. In order to respond to a given set of stimuli with a given set of answers, an attitude can thus be defined as an acquired and lasting predisposition to always act the same way towards a given class of objects, or a persistent mental/neural state of readiness to respond to a given class of objects, not as they are, but as they are conceived (12) .Observing the lack of instruments to evaluate

Rocha FM. Validação da Escala de Atitudes frente ao Álcool, ao alcoolismo e ao alcoolista para estudantes de enfermagem (EAFA-e). [Dissertação]. São Paulo (SP): Escola de Enfermagem, Universidade de São Paulo; 2012. RESUMO Trata-se este de um estudo exploratório de abordagem psicométrica que realizou a validação de construto da Escala de Atitudes Frente ao Álcool, ao Alcoolismo e ao Alcoolista (AEFAAA), entre estudantes de enfermagem, e originou o instrumento EAFA-e. Para a coleta dos dados, aplicou se a EAFAAA original, composta por 54 itens alocados em 2 fatores em uma amostra de 212 estudantes de enfermagem de uma Universidade pública da cidade de São Paulo. A validação de construto foi realizada por meio de análise fatorial exploratória e pela verificação da confiabilidade testada pelo alfa de Crombach. Os resultados obtidos indicaram a permanência de 25 itens do total dos 54 que, inicialmente, compunham a escala. Destes, 11 itens (44%) compõem o fator 1 "O alcoolista e o cuidado" e 14 itens (56%) o fator 2 "A etiologia, as repercussões do alcoolismo e o relacionamento com o alcoolista". A confiabilidade observada na EAFA-e estimada pelo alfa de Combrach foi de 0,83 para a escala na íntegra, 0,80 para o Fator 1 e 0,81 para o Fator 2, o que aponta que o instrumento apresenta índices aceitáveis de consistência interna. Baseando-se nos parâmetros psicométricos evidenciados, conclui-se que a EAFA-e é um instrumento útil e capaz de mensurar os principais grupos de atitudes (moral, doença, etiológico e profissional) entre estudantes de enfermagem frente ao álcool, ao alcoolismo e ao alcoolista, com comprovada confiabilidade.
